Choosing your pool cover

Poseidon Pool Products offer pool covers in different styles, colours and types to help you find the best pool cover to compliment your pool and area.

Choosing the right cover depends on how you are going to use your pool.

Basic options are Solar (bubble style) covers and Thermal Blankets, (closed foam).

All covers prevent evaporation, which is the main cause of heat loss in your pool.

All covers insulate to greater or lesser degree.

Solar is the most popular by far. It attracts free heat from the sun, will raise the pool temperature 6 to 8 degrees in reasonably sunny positions. If your pool is heated, it will make big savings on power, and will extend your swimming season considerably.

If you plan to swim in winter or sustained cold weather, you will need the better insulation provided by a Thermal Blanket (Thicker the better) to compensate for the big difference in ambient temp to the water temp. (Please note: Does not have the advantage of heating the pool from the sun just a heavy-duty insulator)

We also have Winter Covers for when the pool in not going to be used for a few months.

These covers extended beyond the pool by 250mm either side and get fixed to the surrounds (either wooden deck or concrete pavers/slab) with lug inserts and tension ropes. The cover prevents and leaves or debris entering the pool but still lets rainwater through.

Solar Bubble Cover

We have partnered up with Sunline Australia to bring you 4 different colours and 3 different thicknesses.

Clear – Great option for pools with decorative tiles
Ocean Blue – Dark Blue and looks great in modern settings
Blue Marlin – Lighter blue that is a tradition colour for solar bubble covers
Caribbean Teal – A light teal colour that looks great in nature settings

The above colours each come in:

400 microns (5 year pro-rata warranty) Can let more heat radiation through but not as strong
500 microns (10 year pro-rata warranty) The perfect blend of heat transfer and insulation
600 microns (10 year pro-rata warranty) Can offer better insulation and being thicker material is stronger

Thermal Covers

We have partnered up with Archbond LTD (UK) with over 30 years’ experience to bring you one of the best performing thermal blankets on the market. SuperCover can come in two colours blue and grey and is a superior 6mm thick

SuperCover 6mm has a heat value rating of 0.158Km2/W and is made from a 230gsm top sheet laminated on polyethylene foam, which has been embossed with 100micron co-polymer film
Our thermal covers are made with an irradiation cross linked PE foam, ensuring low water absorption and maximum durability. The foam is strengthened by a thick PE top sheet and has a transparent, scratch-resistant film on the reverse to complete the cover and maximise efficiencies.

Winter Cover

Our winter covers are made from woven polypropylene specifically designed for pool covers which makes for lightweight yet strong material that allows rainwater to pass through the cover while restricting winds to significantly limit evaporation.

The covers can come in Black Green or Blue
Prevents debris from entering the pool
Restricts wind which reduces Evaporation and can retain heat
Allows rain water to pass through
